Walting the talk, given all the ranting I do about
clean muscle fuel, careful nutrition, wise choices across the board
in order to make
the world a healthier place to exist, I would
be
remiss
not to acknowledge the elephant
in the room - the current
state of global climate, shifts in weather patterns, increased numbers of floods, hurricanes,
animal
migration, species mutations, species extinction, islands of plastic trash in the ocean, shipping landfill abroad ... .
Ultimately, at the tip-top of the food chain,
and in control, there's YOU AND ME!
If you're dismissing the obvious as just
some politician's problem or a tree-hugger's 15-minutes of fame or even a money making scam,
please do your homework unfettered, objectively.
Global warming, or more accurately - climate shifts - is/are VERY REAL,
and they aren't
going away unless
we ALL take matters into our own hands in every daily
chore and purchase. The movers and shakers will take their sweet
time. But WE
can do a lot right now! Image what this generation's great grandchildren
will have to deal with if we just let it all slide, let it be someone's
problem.
How awesome
it would be to see us, WE today led the way!
We put only
organic
produce
on the store conveyor
belt, we obviously we know how to shop and fuel up. We reuse or recycle shopping bags of every sort. We unwrap a lot of the stuff
and leave the packaging boxes right there before
it's
bagged!
Let the store dispose of it; the onus is on THEM now. People
are gonna
bitch: "what
the
hell are you
doing holding up the line?" You explain calmly, "I don't support
needless, polluting, anti-ecological packaging." Or something like
that.
We make a big point just by being
who are we: survivors and doing well given the givens or bodybuilders or HIV survivors, that's
us. It's our job to MODEL forward thinking, rational
behavior
and consciousness,
okay? Think about it.
